The Ballers Arena indoor cricket league in Australia brings Sri Lankan teams together to participate across various age divisions.

How Our League Works

Season Structure:

The league will run for a total of 10 weeks, including regular-season games and playoffs.

Teams:

The league consists of 10 teams competing in a single division, with both men’s and ladies’ teams.

Games:

Each game has a duration of 1 hour.

Format:

Games are played with 6 players per side, with each pair batting for 4 overs, making a total of 12 overs per game.

Handicap Adjustment:

If a ladies' team is playing against a men’s team, the ladies' team will start with a 25-run lead.

TEAM AND PLAYER REQUIREMENTS

Team Size

Each team must have a minimum of 6 players. Additional players can be registered as substitutes, but only 6 players will play in a match.

Game Play Rules

Scoring

Scoring

Standard indoor cricket scoring applies. Runs are scored by hitting the ball into designated scoring zones and running between wickets.

Batting

Batting

Each team bats for 12 overs, with pairs batting for 4 overs each. If a player gets out, 5 runs are deducted from the total score, but the player continues to bat.

Bowling

Bowling

Each player on the bowling team must bowl a minimum of 2 overs.

Fielding

Fielding

Standard indoor cricket fielding rules apply, including catching, run-outs, and boundary rules.

Substitutions

Substitutions

Substitutions can be made during breaks between innings or in the event of an injury.

Fouls and Penalties

Fouls and Penalties

Standard indoor cricket rules apply regarding no-balls, wides, and other infringements. Umpires will enforce these rules strictly.

Statistics

Player statistics, including runs scored, wickets taken, and catches, will be recorded for each game.

Awards

At the end of the season, the following awards will be given:

Top Scorer

Awarded to the player with the most runs scored throughout the season.

Best Bowler

Awarded to the player with the most wickets taken throughout the season.

League MVP

Awarded to the most valuable player of the league, based on overall performance, leadership, and contribution to their team.

Full Statistics

Cricket player statistics, such as runs scored, wickets taken, and catches, will be logged for every game.

Awards

At the end of the cricket season, awards will recognise outstanding performances with categories including Top Scorer, Best Bowler, and League MVP.

Health and Safety

Injuries

In the event of an injury, the clock will stop until the injured player is safely removed from the court.

Safety Protocols

All players must adhere to the venue’s safety protocols, including any COVID-19 related guidelines.
